"Consadole Sapporo" is professional football club, and belong to Japan profeesional Football League (J-League).
Consadole is very young club, was born at1996. Consadole is at Sapporo City (Hokkaido prefecutre) where is in the north of Japan, formerly opened Winter Olympic Games in 1972.
The predecessor of Consadole is TOSHIBA FOOTBALL CLUB (amature, company team) in Japan Football League (JFL). In 1996, Toshiba FC, which wished to change to pro-team from ama-team in those days, moved to Sapporo City from Kawasaki City (in Kanagawa Prefecture), and become a new proffesional club team, "Consadole Sapporo".
The club name of "Consadole" is made from 'consado' as reverse of Japanese word DO-SA-N-KO (means people of Hokkaido) and 'Ole' (shout word of Latin). This club name is with all Hokkaido citizen's heart that Consadole is our club.
In 1996, 1997, Consadole belong to JFL(Secondary Football league in Japan). In 1997, Consadole was the Champion of the league, and was promoted to a higher league (J-League). In 1998, Consadole plays games in J-League.
